How Does the Northeast Dental Plan of America Work? The Northeast-Southeast Dental Plan is a network of private practice dentists and specialists who provide their services for plan members at reduced rates. It is not traditional dental insurance. It is a fair and cooperative method for lowering the cost of dental treatment. Doctors benefit by increasing their patient volume and, of course, patients benefit by receiving quality private care at substantial savings. Simply enroll into an individual dental plan or a couple or family dental plan. Then select the dentist of your choice using the Directory of Dentists . Once we receive your Enrollment Application, we will mail you an identification card to be presented to the dentist's office at the time of your appointment. When visiting a participating Plan dentist, you pay them directly as you normally would, but at the reduced rates as listed in the Plan Fee Schedule. Saving up to 50% off the dentist's normal fees. The Northeast Dental Plan is available for anyone to join. They offer Single, Couple and Family membership rates. Any two people per household are considered a couple (including roommates), and three or more household members make up a family. Part time and full-time students away at school may also be covered under the family plan. NPDA also offers a special reduced enrollment rate for Groups, Unions and Companies of Five or More. Northeast Dental Plan memberships operate on an annual basis. Your membership is effective the day they receive your application and valid for one year to the date. You are free to visit any dental office in our directory immediately, without any waiting periods. Simply show the doctors office your NDPA membership card or have them call NDPA to verify your membership.

Commonly Asked Questions? Q: How long has the NDPA been in business? A: Since 1981. Q: What If A Member Can't Find His/Her Dentist In The NDPA Directory? A: If your dentist is not in our directory, feel free to refer them to the NDPA for participation and qualification procedures. Q: What If A Member Wants To Change His/Her Dentist? A: Members may change dentists at any time by calling NDPA. Please call NDPA to confirm the dentist you have chosen is still participating in the plan. Q: What if I've already seen the Dentist before becoming a NDPA member? Can I still use him? A: The dentist is under no obligation to see you as an NDPA member if he's already seen you as a private patient. Please contact the dentist's office and confirm that they will accept you as a member of our plan. Q: Can one use the plan for specialty work only? A: Yes. Many members join to take advantage of the Specialist Fee Schedule while maintaining their regular dentist. Q: What is the difference between Schedule I and Schedule II? A: Dentists are given a choice to charge the Schedule 1 Fees or the Schedule II Fees, based upon their usual and customary fees. Please check the Doctor Directory to see whether your General Dentist is a Schedule I or Schedule II Dentist. Q: What is the cancellation policy? A: All membership fees are fully refundable within 72 business hours of your application receipt. Requests must be made either via e-mail. If beyond the allowable 72-hour period, requests must be received in writing and are subject to a 25% processing fee and monthly prorate. Q: How does my company qualify for Group Dental Plan rates? A: We offer special reduced enrollment rates for groups, Unions and Companies of 5 or more. All you have to do is submit 5 separate enrollment applications to receive the special rates.
